My students struggled with various past tenses, especially past perfect and past perfect continuous. I think it's more effective to draw a horizontal line to indicate when an action occurred and how long it lasted. The sample activate stage teaching ideas are helpful and I should remember to implement them in my next lesson plans. Overall I feel that the unit could have used more examples and gone deeper into the past tenses.
