There are more tenses in the future but most have less usage compared to the present or the past. The future simple tense is easy to form, only adding the auxiliary verb "will" before the verb. It can be used to express spontaneous decisions, predictions without reasoning, assumptions, fact/certainties, promises, and threats. The future continuous is formed by adding "will" and "be" before the verb+ing. This tense is used to express an ongoing event at a specific time in the future, predictions, giving fixed future events, or inquiry regarding future plans. The future perfect is formed by adding "will" and "have" before the past participle of the verb. It is used to express an event that is completed for finished at a particular time in the future. The future perfect continuous is formed by adding "will", "have", and "been" to the verb+ing. It is used to express how long an ongoing action has continued by a particular future time. Basically, all tenses with the word "continuous" refer to ongoing action. The confusing ones are the "going to" tense and the present simple and present continuous with future meanings. The "going to" tenses are formed by adding "going to" and the infinitive form of the verb. It is used to express intentions, predictions from present information, and pre-determined plans. The present simple with future meaning is used for timetables, to suggest a formal situation, or to imply an impersonal tone. The present continuous is used for decisions without any timeframe and definite plans or arrangements. Good ways to teach these would be using games such as role-play, making travel plans, or future predictions (e.g. fortune telling).
