The simple present tense states habitual or routine actions, facts, present stories, newspaper headlines etc. They have three forms. Affirmative form uses sub+verb adding s or es. The negative form uses not after the auxiliary verb. The question form reverses the subject and the auxiliary verb. The present continuous tense shows actions in progress. The affirmative uses subject + auxiliary verb be + verb with ing. The negative formuses a not after the auxiliary verb. The question form uses the auxiliary verb in the beginning followed by the subject. The present perfect tense shows finished actions, thinking of completed actions, describing the past action which have present results. They use ‘for’ and ‘since’ to show periods of time and point of topime respectively. The present continuous tense is used to communicate an incomplete and ongoing action. And to describe a recently finished action which has present results.
