In this unit, I learned about the four basic present tenses: present simple, present continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. As a native English speaker these are tenses I use every day, so the most valuable thing I learned from this unit is how to recognize and correct mistakes and how to create lessons to teach these ideas. For example, it is common for students to miss key words like "he watching t.v." In order to correct this error, I would compliment their correct tense usage, then explain that they forgot to use the word 'is.' I loved the "Find Someone Who..." teaching idea. This idea can be applied to several different tenses and gets the students talking to one another, which is my primary goal as an English teacher.
