In unit 17 we looked the different equipment available for teacher in the classroom and teaching aid for classroom usage. All classrooms should have a white/black board, which can be used for writing, drawing, sticking and projecting. The board is an effective way to hold students attention and is easy to clean. When wanting to use a white/black board it is useful to draw out your intensions beforehand on a plan. When using the board write neatly, use correct spelling and write big enough so all students will have a clear few and understanding. Using different colors to point out particular language points or irregularities will attract the student attention and play part in pointing out difficulties. Other equipment we might find in a classroom are; overhead projectors, interactive white boards, recording devices audio and or visuals, CD player and of course the computer. We should always test our equipment before using, familiarize yourself with usage to avoid unnecessary delays. Other aids we might find useful in the classroom are; visuals aids, worksheets and work cards, dictionaries, resource book and online resources.
