In this is unit I have learnt about modals, phrasal verbs, passive voice and relative clauses. Modal auxiliary verbs and modals can be used to express a number of different ideas such as obligation, possibilities/probability, permission/prohibition, ability and advice. the teaching ideas for modals are role play rules and signs. I have learnt that there are two voices in English, that is active voice and passive voice. In the passive voice the object of an active verb becomes the subject of the passive voice. The usage of the passive voice is most frequently used when it is known, not important, or we don't say exactly who performs an action. Relative clause are group of words containing a subject and a verb. There are three categories of clauses, they are independent clause, dependent clause and a relative clause.We have pronouns in defining clauses, and pronouns in non defining relative clauses.Phrasal verbs or multi-word verbs consists of a verb plus one or two particles. There are three basic parts of phrasal verbs, type1- intransitive, type 2- transitive separable and type 3- transitive inseparable.
