Unit 18 contained, as most of the previous units, multiple parts. Firstly, there was an explanation of modal auxiliary verbs such as may, should, could, and would, how these are used grammatically and in what context or for what purpose they are used; modal auxiliary verbs often are seen in hypothetical situations as well as in expressing politeness, wills, and obligations. Next, the distinction between the active and passive voices were made, followed by the types of clauses found in English (independent, dependent, and relative). Finally, a brief explanation of phrasal verbs, intransitive, transitive separable, and transitive inseparable verbs was included. Phrasal verbs especially is rather advanced English content, but the concise explanation in this unit was very useful.
