I expect that teaching receptive skills to beginners would be one of the most difficult things for a teacher. Particularly listening - a certain amount can be taught through gestures, visuals, etc., but as the teacher is the main source of fluent spoken English they will need to be the ones to teach the beginners some simple initial language, without much of a base to start on, which can then be used going forward for interaction with the teacher and other students through the class.
