Unit 6 covered the past tenses with the four aspects, simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous and we learned how to form the affirmative, negative, and question forms for each tense. Just as in unit 4, which covered the present tenses, we learned usages and typical mistakes and errors students make when studying the past tenses. As indicated in the introduction, there are certain principles shared by all three tenses, i.e., present, past, and future, and therefore it is important for teachers to make sure that students have solid understanding and mastery with the present tenses in the early stage of English learning.
