I learnt that there are different special teaching groups - beginners, Young Learners, Business English learners, and multilingual groups - that require a more special approach to teaching. By knowing what group I would be teaching, I can target the students more effectively and organise teaching materials more specific to their needs. For this, it is important to carry out Needs analysis before starting the course. The Needs analysis helps teachers to know what students needs to learn, and helps direct the future lesson. It also reveals what students feel their weaknesses and strengths are in English. This can help teachers to prepare lessons that would help build up students' confidence in English.
