This unit covered the topic of what it means to be a good teacher and a good learner, which are the foundations of the classroom that we are trying to build. Among other things a teacher should be fair, knowledgeable, and kind in order to foster the kind of motivation, curiosity, and willingness that is desired in good students for their own success. On one hand, the teacher should maintain an awareness of the appropriate roles and timing of those roles within the lesson in order to maintain focus and successfully execute the lesson to its full potential. On the other hand, the teacher should also be aware of the students' condition, especially regarding age and proficiency. Together, awareness of these things will hopefully foster a language learning environment that is appropriate and enjoyable for the students.
