To be a "good teacher" it is important to be kind, patient, motivating, be interested in teaching and knowing the subject well while making it lively and entertaining for the students. There are different roles a teacher can take and each role has its own benefits for the class. I think the 5 most important roles are: model (because the teacher should be responsible for what they are teaching), tutor (because teacher should be able to guide and support the students individually but also give equal attention to everyone), observer (to know what's going on in the classroom and be able to understand the students well) , controller (to give the basic information to the students), and assessor (because students should be able to get feedback and correction in order to know the language well).
There are also different kind of students with their own cultures and first languages. They have different approaches to learning. Teachers should be aware of their students' customs in order to help them to achieve success in learning. There are 6 language levels: beginners, elementary, low intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced. There are also differences between teaching young learners and adults. I think it is very important for a teacher to have an experience in teaching both in order to understand where he can be more helpful and which way of teaching is more comfortable for the teacher and more motivating for the students.
