Unit 12 is about productive skills which are speaking and writing. In order to communicate and be understandable it's important to practice both of these skills. The teacher must encourage students to participate in activities to communicate between each other. There are two types of activities - accuracy and fluency activities. Accuracy takes a bigger part in writing while speaking requires a greater degree of fluency. Accuracy activities are usually a part of the study phase and focus on producing correct language. Fluency activities are usually a part of the activate phase and focus on allowing the students to experiment and be creative with the language. They are equally important. It is also very important for the teacher not to correct mistakes that students make while they are speaking in class. It better to talk to the student in private. As a not native English speaker, it was hard for me to work with punctuation and layout while learning the language. I think it is important for a teacher to give more practice for those two factors to students. I also agree that fun games and activities encourage students to work during the class while they are having fun and learning the topic at the same time.
