In this lesson we will learn how to deal with some of the common problem situations in the classroom. The teachers will be faced with new classes (divide on new and existing classes) and first lessons. Teacher should find out many things about students, their needs and aspirations, English level, etc. by playing different games which include a lot of questions, and after that teacher can analyze answers. Teachers should use “warmers” in teaching (short and fun communicative activities to get student motivated and using English) such as memory game, Pictionary, hangman, etc. Different language levels also are one of the biggest problems for teachers. Problem can be solved using same materials and different tasks according student’s language level, pairs stronger students with weaker ones, etc. Large classes are also challenge for teachers and how to involve all pupils equally. Solution is choral repetition, group work, use worksheets, etc. Teachers also may have problems with reluctant students and how to involve them to be more active. Problem can be solved using pair work, role-play, etc. Students may have difficulties with listening text and teacher should work with student to help improve they listening skills (using cassettes).
