In Unit 4, it explains the present tenses, present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. It explains its form, usages, typical student’s errors and some teaching activities to teach these tenses to students. My favourite part in this unit is the part when it explains how to teach these tenses using fun activities. When I was younger and learning about these tenses, it was difficult because my teacher kept explaining what these tenses are and gave me worksheets to practise. As a young learner, I did not enjoy it and did not understand what they were because they all sound similar to me. I will make use of these activities and teach present tenses to my future students in a fun way.
It is important to point out their differences and what form each tenses are like. The tenses divides the subjects and usually divided into I/you/ we/ they and he/she/it. Each tenses has different usages for example, for present simple, the usages are habitual, facts, commentaries and etc. For present continuous, the usage to talk about an action that is in progress at the same time of speaking, to describe developing situations and so on.
