Unit 1 is very crucial to the course as it outlines several important factors that should be recognized when teaching a class. Firstly, it is significant that aspiring teachers are aware that their roles as teachers are not limited, and that they do, in fact, play a huge role in students' learning. It is also very important that as teachers, we are aware of who we are teaching, their general skills and abilities, and their possible reasons for wanting to learn English. Some of these factors may seem obvious as you are reading through the unit, however, if people were expected to come up with this information on their own, I do not believe that it would be as detailed and informative as this module offers.
