This unit offers a general overview of the teacher - student interactions, what defines a good teacher and student and why, what pushes both to learn and the European norms tied to language study. The main thing I take away from this unit is that teaching equals human interaction on the most fundamental level. A teacher needs to be able to respond to every situation in an attempt to create an optimal and natural learning environment and has many different roles to fulfill. This requires knowledge beyond the practical and an ability to approach others from a level of understanding. The student, in turn, will learn to place themselves in a situation that pushes them to discover their weaknesses and strengths and in effect, learn more about themselves as well as a new subject. As a result, the ideal learning environment is one of a meaningful exchange. A neutral platform where everyone can learn and benefit with an open mind and without fear of judgement.
