As a future teacher, knowing the different types of evaluations that I will be conducting and preparing students for is extremely important. As I am planning to teach in China, there are many external exams, several of which were mentioned in this unit, that students at the schools in China are preparing for. Knowing about these exams, how to best help them prepare, and how to discover through assessments how the student is struggling or progressing will help to make me a more direct and attuned teacher. Also, knowing how and when to utilize different types of evaluation, such as for placement, monitoring, or addressing student deficiencies, is extremely important to me, as I believe that education should be made as personal as possible.
