In this unit, a look into the extensive rules surrounding phrasal verbs, modal auxiliary verbs, and passive voice took place. The table with the different auxiliary verbs and their uses and tenses was incredibly helpful as a point of reference. I can see a table such as that one being an incredible tool for students who are learning English, as it was truly helpful to me as a learner of English instruction. As someone who loves writing, the look into passive voice was also very relevant to me. Passive voice is something that is nowhere to be found in many other languages, including Chinese, which is the native language of the students that I hope to teach. Given this large difference between our two languages, it is extremely helpful for me as a teacher to be especially aware of how to explain linguistic concepts to students that do not exist in their first languages.
