This unit dealt with the science behind how we speak and how the volume with which we speak can add meaning to sentences. I have not had any work with phonetic script before, and so it was very interesting learning more about it. I think it could be helpful for advanced students, as younger students would most likely be even more confused. This is because a younger student may be focused on mastering the English alphabet, and so another phonetic alphabet would be confusing.
