While reading through this chapter, I realized how much of my grammar is automatic. I did not realize how many parts of speech categories exist in English. There are eight parts of speech: nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns and prepositions/conjunctions. From this chapter, I now know that gerunds are added to verbs and used as a noun. I also learned that there is a difference between a countable and an uncountable noun. Prepositions are generally categorized as time/date, movement, or place/position.
