This unit focused on the productive skills within a language which consist of speaking and writing as well as how to incorporate games when teaching those skills. When speaking, there are two focal points: accuracy and fluency. Accuracy is most often reserved for the study phase and focuses on producing the correct language while Fluency is used during the activate phase in order to allow students to experiment and call use their knowledge of the language to creatively communicate responses. When writing, handwriting, spelling, punctuation are vital. I learned that it is important to note that writing is most times a more difficult tasks due to most writing being assigned outside of class time to avoid quiet time but that can be detrimental to students learning to effectively write. Which is why the incorporation of games with writing can be a fun and informative way to check on the students skills and provide aid when needed.
