This unit is about classroom management and the best ways to establish it. I believe that classroom management is a vital part of the classroom; without it, student learning does not take place. For me, this unit reinforced what I am already doing in my classroom and it gave me some new ideas to implement.
I Learned some new ways in which to use groups and one area that has been difficult is the seating arrangement. I am going to try and implement the Horse Shoe. I have groups, but to me, it encourages them to talk socially, but monitoring them more will probably keep their socializing to a minimum. I like the explanation of when a teacher should stand or sit. As a teacher, I have always felt that sitting at a desk was not good form. However, the explanations provided helped me understand my positions.
