In Unit 13, I learned how to teach pronunciation and phonology. Phonology is the study of study, science, analysis, and classification of the physical properties of sounds. Intonation is considered to be the pitch and volume in a whole sentence and carries the message in a sentence. The normal pattern is rise/fall. The second pattern is fall/rise and is used when a speaker is requesting a response. Techniques for teaching include nonsense words - pure noises, gestures, humming or singing and/or using the board.
Stress is the way we interpret a sentence. The strong part is the stressed word. A word can only have one stress and only syllables are stressed. However, there are more syllables that without stress than there are with stress.
