The unit «Teachers and Learners» is divided into two detailed descriptions. The teacher should have some personal qualities like kindness, calmness and be able to play different roles during the lesson in order to not only to give the material and correct mistakes but to keep students’ attention and interest. It is important to easily switch from the controller to the observer and from the participant to the assessor. Depending on the age, culture or language level the student may have different behaviour and motivation during the lessons. The teacher’s goal is to take into account all the particular qualities that unite the group and choose the best strategy. To my opinion, the presented information is exhaustive in some parts (like description of language levels), but mostly gives just a review of the multiplicity of situations that the teacher may meet during the work. For example, the analyse of learners does not include the place of studying, that may influence the group, the learners’ motivation and goals. On the whole, it is more like a warning of difficulties, that the teacher will probably have to deal with. Nevertheless, now I have some expectations that may help me to prepare for the first lessons for the unknown group.
