Unit 13 focused on Pronunciation and Phonology---what a lesson! If I thought that I had a fleeting grasp of the English language before, this unit emphasized it even more. The amazing thing is that I am an English Major, and yet---a lot of these concepts are topics that we never covered. I found the section on the physical description of sounds particularly interesting. Knowing and studying how your mouth moves when saying words will help me coach students on how to pronounce words in English. This will help clear up any struggles with pronunciation. This was a totally new concept to me, but once I read that section and practice some of the exercises I understood how valuable this added tool would be.
