The unit «theories, methods and techniques» is extremely informative, it starts with the brief explanation of methodologies of teaching English students. It is difficult to choose one of them, but obviously the most important thing is making students use and learn English without fear and anxiety, so the teacher was not the central person at the lesson. Explaining the «ESA» method, authors give many examples of activities and details, so the logic could be understandable. The crucial idea of «Engage, Study and Activate», that makes it special, is elicitation with its variety of techniques. According to the consequence and quantity of its stages of the lesson, ESA may look like a «Straight Arrow», «Boomerang» or «Patchwork». It mostly depends on teacher’s aim and group’s level of language. Moreover, authors describe the corrections, the way of helping the students to understand their mistakes and rectify them. To my mind, that is all utterly informative and may be used as a guide for the lesson plan. Certainly, it is not always easy to separate the stages, as the it is shown in the unit, nevertheless, it is a great frame that is easy to follow, adapt and develop according to the situation.
