When I first taught, I made it a personal obligation to 're-study' the grammatical forms and rules that I myself learned rote in grammar school and high school. While English grammar was never an area I felt a tremendous amount of excitement studying, I nonetheless came to an even greater appreciation of the role grammatical rules whilst learning other languages. On account of this, I am always appreciative of revisiting grammatical rules so as to interiorize them so as better to teach and convey the interior logic of the language when teaching my students.
