This unit covered the parts of speech in the English language and broke it down into several categories which contained subcategories. It explained irregular forms of certain words, tenses, sentence structure, and special circumstances where the normal rules of grammar do not apply. By learning the parts of speech, I have a better understanding of sentence structure and patterns and rules to follow for teaching how to conjugate verbs. I learned that identifying the subject and object of each sentence is a strategical way to start understanding the sentence structure and start breaking down the other parts of the sentence/parts of speech. I am more aware of the English language and why I speak the way I do.
