This unit completes the observation of The English tense system by focusing on the future tenses. Again it takes a close look at the structures and usages of the future tenses and accompanies the information with clear examples. It also provides us with different teaching ideas and activities that can be used during the various stages of the lesson. The future is rather complex area of the English language as many different situations can be expressed in different tenses with future meaning.
For example “be going + infinitive” is used for plans (decisions made before speaking) and predictions based on present evidence. At the same time if prediction is based on no present evidence or decision is made spontaneously the future simple is used. Such information is a very good edition to my existing knowledge of the English language.
