there are many opinions about lesson planning, some say that lesson planning is not necessary especially for experienced teachers who can be spontaneous and can manage their classes without a plan, but other teachers who are beginners should get some structure from the planning which will help their class to be smooth and organized.
A lesson plan is an aid to planning because you write down what students need to achieve and how you intend to make that possible, a working document because it helps you to keep on target and gives you something to refer to during the lesson and a record of what class has been done and what materials have been used.
A lesson plan is also a benchmark document that helps you evaluate yourself and motivates you to improve.
