This unit sought to focus our attention on student learning. Our audience, that is our students, will determine what vocabulary we teach, what grammatical forms and what level of language we focus on. Focusing on the vocabulary forces you to be in intentional on what students need to learn. In some ways this course so far has consisted of stripping the English language apart for me, reminding me of the rules and forms that we never speak of in the every day. Rather we just “know” what sounds right and wrong. This course has been reducing English down to its bare structure and therefore I can help a student build up their skill with the language.
