I found this unit very informative. I have over the years forgotten much of what I was taught in my studies, and have found through experience what works for different classes. I relate mostly to the Patchwork and Boomerang lessons, as I find the students do pick up quickly if there is a routine (and can get bored). I do use many different types of activities and materials to get the students enthusiastic, but am aware that I tend to speak too much, and this has been a concern I have been addressing. Thanks to the numerous examples, I now have many more ideas and methods to apply in my lessons, that will encourage the students to speak more than myself!
I am also responsible for helping new teachers when they start teaching at our Academy, and am now much better equipped to advise them.
