This unit focused on Evaluation and Testing. There are three types of testing and evaluation tools that I can use: Tutorials, Student Evaluation (to give myself some feedback on how the students are experiencing the course) and Tests. There are 4 types of test: the placement test (which allows the student to be placed in the correct course for his level) the progress test (which can be done periodically through the course to evaluate what material is being absorbed and what needs to be revisited), the diagnostic test (similar to placement test but given at the start of the course to really give me an idea of what knowledge the students are coming in with) and the practice test (which prepares for external/formal exams). Personally, I am a fan of progress tests, as I feel that if my German course had had more of them, the teacher could have seen that some of the material many of us had not understood and learned correctly. The student evaluations are also a must in my opinion. For practice tests, I would refer to something provided by whatever f company the student is going to take a formal exam with.
