Unit 8 focused on the future tenses. Future simple tense uses shall/will in the sentence structure. Shall is used to make to make suggestions and invitations. Will generally expresses a stronger intention or determination. Usages include to discuss future facts/certainties, promises, predictions, assumptions/speculations, spontaneous decisions and threats. The future continuous tense uses the following form: subject + will + be + verb-ing. It's usages include something will be in progress at a particular moment in the future, predicting the present, polite inquiries referring to other people's plans, and referring to future events which are fixed or decided. Future perfect tense takes the following form: will + have + past participle. It is used today that something will have been done, completed or achieved by a certain time in the future. Future perfect continuous takes the following form: will+ have + been + verb-ing. It is used to convey how long something will have continued by a certain time. Finally, the last tense covered is 'be going + infinitive' ('going to' future). It's usage is to convey intentions, predictions based on present evidence, and plans/decisions made before speaking.
