Sometimes as native speakers we often take the forms of receptive skills for granted such as skimming. This lesson has taught me about these methods that we often use unconsciously. The main thing that I have learned from this unit is, how to apply recpetive skills/teaching into my lesson plan. Before all I could think of were plain stratight forward arrow ESA lessons using mimes , sounds, pictures or physical entities. Now im incorporating pieces of visual or audio stimulation to make sure that students are somewhat engaged and paying attention by listening/watching comprehension/video which is to benefit them in terms of learning a second language rather than sitting quietly and absorbing nothing. I beleive that after learning about receptive skill that it adds QUALITY OF LIFE to a lesson from beginner to advanced students. Stimulating lessons are key.
