This unit is devoted to the topic Coursebooks and teaching materials. A teacher can use authentic materials or created materials in the classroom or combine both. Authentic materials may be really interesting and engaging for the students though quite difficult for the beginners. Created materials have also advantages and disadvantages. Coursebooks are usually expected from the students and are a very good resourse because the material is structurized and logically organized, suited for each language level. The problem with the coursebooks can be that they are created for general public so sometimes may not be interesting for students. Teachers need to use textbooks creatively, adapting, omitting, replacing or supplementing materials.
