In this unit, it introduces us about phonology: the study, science, analysis, and classification of the physical properties of sounds.
Intonation is related to the variation in volum and pitch in a whole sentence. It is fundamental in the expression of emotions or feelings, and quite important in questioning, agreeing or disagreeing, or confirming statements.
Rise/fall intonation is the normal pattern.When you finish what you say, the intonation falls.
Fall/rise intonation pattern usually indicates the speaker wants his or her audience to respond in some way.
Flat intonation pattern often indicates that the speaker doesn't really have that much to say, or perhaps doesn't want to communicate.
There are some ways for teaching intonation: nonsense words, by gesture, humming ot singing, the board.
