I found Unit One to be extremely enlightening. I did not consider that I would be faced with students who did not want to learn. Nor did I think about adult students who could possibly be so engrained in their ways, that a wall would form against my lessons. This Unit prepared me for possible trials. I learned how to categorize my students to gauge their skill sets and apply specific teaching methods to help each type of student learn. From these lessons, I am affirmed in my belief that learning and teaching are two-sided processes: we need each other. Patience and kindness will reciprocate respect and curiosity. This way they will absorb the language in a way that it doesn't feel like class, but a life experience for both of us.
