This unit drills deep into what constitutes the act of reading versus the act of listening, the concepts were later demonstrated in a typical Engage, Study and Activate modus operandi. I have always believed that reading is more important than listening as I believed that the brain is more engaged while reading thus the material being read is imprinted to a greater extent in the human brain. This unit however proved to me how they are both equally important in a classroom. The style of reading like scanning, skimming and more and the purpose of reading whether it is for a certain goal or mere entertainment was extremely important to me as it dissected this area in receptive skills and explained each area in depth. One of my favorite units thus far in this course!
