This chapter provided a helpful outline of a standard English class. The ESA, or Engage, Study, and Activate components are helpful ways of getting the class's attention, providing formal drills and instruction, and applying the knowledge learned in both the day's class and cumulatively in practice. It was also beneficial to learn of the modifications of the ESA technique, such as the Straight Arrow and Boomerang techniques, and when to apply them (i.e depending on the length of time for class and the class's language level).
