Phonology is the study of the physical properties of sounds. The pronunciation is one fo the most difficult thing to learn for a foreigner because it means to learn how to use the mouth and all the places of articulation in a way that we are not used to. When we study the phonetic of a language we have to deal with the areas of stress, that means where is the strongest word in the sentence in base of the meaning we want to give, the rhythm and the Intonation that is the variation in volume and pitch in the whole sentence. It is useful to use the International Phonetic Alphabet for having identical pronunciation of a language, all around the world. Teaching pronunciations is as important as the other aspects of the language. I think that a part of the lesson has to be dedicated to the study of pronunciation. In my lessons I have used the diagram of the mouth often, showing how the sound is made and in the same time i have used my own mouth.
