This chapter provided a great overview on the many present tense verbs that I speak well as a native English speaker but did not know the names of previously. I learned that essentially, simple verbs stay the same except for third person singular tense, and present continuous verbs use am/are/is to show that the verb is still in progress. Present perfect tense uses have or has, and present perfect continuous uses have been or has been. It is helpful for me to quickly distinguish which present type the verb is in order to provide the scenarios of when to use such words to my students.
