This unit discussed what makes a good teacher, teacher roles, and types of students. Examples of what makes a good teacher are: motivates student learning, is kind and patient, is lively, loves to teach, and is knowledgeable in the content being taught. A good teacher varies the roles of teaching throughout the course to help student learning. These roles include being a monitor, participant, assessor, facilitator, and model. Teaching English to students will have to take into consideration of the students' age for each age group from early school aged to adult. The younger the student, the easier the students will learn English. However the older the student, the more motivated the students will be and the less behavior issues will take place in the classroom. The unit also discussed the level of English students have from Beginning to Advanced that will have to be assessed for teachers to know what and how to teach appropriately.
