Teaching and learning grammar aspects have always been a subject of difficulty and challenge for teachers as well as learners. Learning languages goes in tandem with the implementation and explanation of grammar tenses. As for English language, there exist three main tenses including the present, the past and the future. Accordingly, each of the aforesaid, tenses is comprised of four aspects such as simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. More broadly, being aware of all existing present tenses including its forms and usages facilitates the learning procedures of learners. More precisely, EFL teachers are compelled to differentiate among the all existing present tenses’ usages and forms that are implemented in English language. In this regard, Present simple, present continuous, present perfect simple and present perfect continuous are the common used tenses that exist in present tenses. In an obvious sense, while present simple is basically used in everyday people’s routines and habits, present continuous is particularly referred to an action and/or event happening at the moment. Moreover, present perfect is generally referred to a tense that used in different cases. Accordingly, the present perfect tense is used when a-talking about experience of indefinite time; b- an action started in the past and still continues at the present; c-a situation that happened in the past and still progresses at the present with sense of doubt whether or not it will continue; d-a case of mentioning past actions using present effects. In my viewpoint, I have found Unit 4 beneficial and thorough. The combination and order of present tenses provided in this has widened my knowledge concerning the huge variation of tenses existing in English language. In effect, this unit offers the techniques for EFL teachers to explain grammar in thorough, though-provoking and plausible manners.
