This is a difficult lesson for many non-native speakers. Many other languages have intonation that will change the meaning of a given sentence, so this will be nothing new to them. It is very important for them to understand the correct intonation so they are able to communicate what they mean to say. Pronunciation can be difficult, even with the phonemic alphabet. There are so many languages, such as many Asian languages, that don't use all of these sounds. Korean does not use the teeth or lips when speaking so it is very difficult for them to make the different fricative and plosive sounds. Using your mouth and mouth diagrams to teach how to make these sounds will help immensely.
