Exeter, Missouri TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
In this unit I learned about modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice. The basic rules of modal auxiliary verbs include obligation, possibility, permission, ability, and advice. I learned about the specific uses for auxiliaries, and also teaching ideas for them. Some teaching ideas would be role-play, creating rules and regulations for a hotel, and guessing the meaning of traffic signs. I also learned about the difference between passive and active voice sentence structures. Passive voice is most frequently used when the object is not known. Some teaching ideas for passive vs. active voice structures would be cutting up sentences and getting students to match them and having students write a general quiz using passive examples.
