This unit went over how to teach receptive skills. Receptive skills include listening and reading. Productive skills include speaking and write. All four skills are important for students to become well rounded ESL speakers. The unit went over ways to teach receptive skills. I liked the idea of playing an excerpt of something: music, a movie, etc. And discussing it with students. I also liked that the unit stressed the importance of teaching a subject students will be interested in.
