In this unit I learned about teaching pronunciation and phonology. Pronunciation is an important part of language and speech as it creates uniformity among English speakers. I learned about putting the proper stress on syllables and how the stress on a word can invoke or change the context of the sentence. I learned that rhythm and intonation are important as well when the speaker wants to invoke a emotion or meaning to a sentence. Various techniques on how to teaching intonations and stress was introduced as well. The most interesting portion of the unit I found to be the section on the phonemic alphabet. And how it relates to physical formations of words through speech.
