This unit introduced receptive skills and productive skills. The focus of the material was teaching receptive skills. Topics included reasons for reading and listening, methods of reading, and different ways we can teach and improve students' reading and listening skills. I think one of the most important things pointed out in this unit stated that learners do not need to know every word in a text to understand it, and it is important for teachers to select reading that will challenge them enough.
